What better way to start than to get the know the artist behind Emilie Harmony Art.
So where do I begin... I'm a 25 year old from Hastings, East Sussex, I have a toy poodle, I've always been quirky, and I've had a passion for art since I could pick up a pencil.
I guess creating art started as a way to express myself and was a result of the fantasy worlds I was engrossed in. I loved reading Rainbow Magic fairy books, watching Tim Burton films, playing on my Nintendo DS, and listening to Avril Lavigne.
These days my inspirations are artists such as Gretel Lusky, Chris Riddell, and Sibylline Meynet. I think all three artists have such a prominent style and give so much life to their characters. Gretel's colour palettes and use of mixed media , Chris' inventive constructions, and Sibylline's smooth, aesthetically pleasing compositions all influence my art.

Art definitely ranks highly on my list of priorities but as I've gotten older my desire for justice and equality has grown too, this is why the meaning behind my artworks is just as important as the art itself for me. I am keen to make a positive difference with my art. I know it isn't unique or special to want equality for all, to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, or spread awareness of climate change but if we don't all keep sharing these important messages how else will we make change? Each post that makes someone feel a little more included or a tad more positive can go a long way.
